Leros Hospital Interior Upgrade Proceeding at a Rapid Pace

The project to upgrade the interior spaces at Leros Hospital is progressing swiftly. The project is funded by the Recovery and Resilience Facility, with the 2nd Health Region of Piraeus and the Aegean serving as the implementing body under the supervision of Mr Pantelis Arapis, who also oversees Kalymnos Hospital, as the project concerns both healthcare institutions.

The total budget amounts to €580,000 and includes works such as:

Reinforcement of all clinical ceilings
Installation of false ceilings throughout the building
Replacement of lighting with new-type luminaires
Door replacements for better bed access
New wall finishes
Floor restoration in the Emergency Department (ED) and Haemodialysis Unit
Installation of fire-resistant safety doors in compliance with new regulations
Full repainting of all interior spaces

The results are already highly impressive, as you can see.

The Director of the 2nd Health Region, Mr Christos Roilos, has placed great emphasis on resolving all issues in the islands’ hospitals, and this particular programme is delivering impressive outcomes.

As explained by the project supervisor, Mr Pantelis Arapis, the goal, provided further resources are secured from the programme, is to carry out additional interventions at our island’s hospital.

The Director of Leros General Hospital, Mr Stamatis Kardasis, expressed his gratitude to Mr Roilos for the highly significant project underway both at our hospital and at Kalymnos Hospital.

“The fight to strengthen our hospital’s human resources continues alongside the interior upgrades, as demanded by the entire island community. Rest assured, we give our best every day, striving to secure a high standard of healthcare provision for our island,” emphasised Mr Kardasis, who, within a short time, has already begun resolving long-standing hospital issues.
